The angle that makes it different

Most travel writing about the Caribbean is written by outsiders with a week on a press trip. I am from Trinidad and Tobago. I grew up in the region, I understand the culture from the inside, and I have been writing about it for over sixteen years. That is a different kind of access.

Based now in Buenos Aires, I also cover Latin America with the same level of ground-level familiarity. Neither region gets the editorial attention it deserves from writers who actually live there. That gap is where my strongest pitches come from.
